LiteStats vs Fathom: check your reporting and site needs
For a freelancer or small business, the number of websites and the reports available at each tier matter. Here is how to evaluate LiteStats alongside Fathom without assuming the products measure visits in the same way.

Start with sites, traffic and billing period
LiteStats Free supports one website with 1,000 monthly pageviews and 30-day history. Starter supports up to three sites; Pro supports up to ten. Paid monthly allowances combine recorded pageviews and custom events across the account. Heartbeats and MCP queries do not consume that tracking allowance.
Fathom’s pricing page advertises plans from $15/month and a 7-day trial. It says all plans include the same analytics features, with pricing based on traffic across sites. Review the current included site count and any extra-site costs for your own portfolio. A LiteStats paid tier and a Fathom traffic tier need not cover the same workload.
Check your event and funnel requirements
Fathom describes its event and reporting capabilities on its features page. Use those descriptions and its help centre to validate your particular conversion workflow.
LiteStats custom events require a paid plan. Pro funnels connect ordered path views or events within one loaded document. They cannot connect a traditional full-page navigation or return visit to the same person. If your form redirects to a separately loaded thank-you page, test the measurement boundary before treating that path as a single funnel.
AI access should be evaluated as a workflow
LiteStats offers read-only MCP access on paid plans for supported assistants. Starter includes 500 successful tool calls per month; Pro includes 1,000, plus Pro-only campaign breakdowns and funnels. Review the connection guide and data-sharing settings before connecting an assistant.
Fathom also links an AI assistant from its homepage. AI itself is therefore not an exclusive LiteStats advantage. Compare the actual questions, integration surface and account permissions you need.
Read hosting and privacy arrangements carefully
Fathom publishes an EU data isolation explanation. LiteStats documents analytics hosting in Germany, while account and billing providers, exports and connected agents have separate processing arrangements. See the LiteStats privacy policy for those boundaries.
The LiteStats tracker uses no cookies, persistent storage, fingerprinting or IP-derived visitor identifiers. Its in-memory page-load IDs reset on reload and full navigation. This supports specific privacy statements; it does not establish that every deployment needs no consent or is compliant automatically.
Make a practical shortlist
Evaluate LiteStats if its Free allowance or paid reporting model fits your sites. Evaluate Fathom’s current plan details if you want its approach to traffic-based pricing and included analytics features. Test representative pages and known interactions in each demo or trial before committing.
